Worst forest fire in Israel’s history

November 8, 2011

Dear Friend,

This is urgent! Israel needs our help in several ways. First, let me explain the crisis at Mt. Carmel.

Several months ago a deadly fire, killing 44 Israelis, swept across the Mount Carmel region in Israel. More than 17,000 people were evacuated and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a national day of mourning. Forest fires in Israel are extra severe, because there are so few forested areas.

Israel would be a desert, was it not for the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy that the land would be rebuilt… and “strangers” would help to do it.

The Mt. Carmel fire was the deadliest in the history of Israel. 9,900 acres of forest were destroyed, and from the devastated Mt. Carmel region 5.5 million trees burned. After we visited Mt. Carmel to view the devastation, we consulted with our Israeli partners, ambassador Rami Levi, and the director of the Land of Promise Foundation, Dr. R.J. Gosselin. It quickly became clear that our help was needed at this critical time in Israel. View Emergency Response Update

Right now is prime tree planting season in Israel, and Grace Television is once again stepping up to the plate to stand shoulder to shoulder to bless the people of Israel.

The Grace TV Biblical Forest was launched in Galilee, and we will never forget how the Jewish farmers wept that “strangers had come to help restore their land”. Isaiah’s prophecy rang in our ears, “many nationalities would join” to rebuild Israel, “and they shall build the old waste… raise up former desolations… and strangers shall feed your crops and shall be your ploughmen and your vinedressers” (Is. 61:4-5).

We have continued to plant trees in Galilee, but the current emergency at Mt. Carmel has caused us to focus our attention to help in this much needed area. This is not a quick involvement in Israel. We have been active for years with sharing the Gospel with Jews and Arabs. The purpose of the Grace Biblical Forest is to put down deeper roots in Israel, while we continue to share the Gospel.

Grace TV is committed to plant 100,000 trees. This is a great opportunity to leave a legacy for you and your family in Israel and join in prophetic fulfillment. Consider the following:

The Grace TV Forest is a testimony to the grace of God in Israel.

The Grace TV Forest is a joint venture with the people of Israel and local farmers.

Many of the trees are olive trees that will bear fruit for at least 1,000 years.

Isaiah prophesied 2,800 years ago that “strangers” would help build the land. You now become a participant in Bible prophecy.

You will receive your personal certificate signed by the Israeli ambassador and Grace Television.

With each gift of $30 or more to Grace Television, we will plant one tree in your name or in the honor of any person you wish to have named.

With your gift of $360 to GTV, we will plant a cluster of 12 trees in your name, or in the name of the person you desire to honor. You will also receive the silver-plated “Possessing Your Promise” statuette depicting Joshua and Caleb. This will be a reminder of God’s promises for you in Jesus Christ!

I’m sure you can see how Grace TV is standing with Israel. In addition to planting a tree this Christmas, would you help me to respond to the request I received from Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Dead Sea is a finalist in the “New 7 Wonders of Nature” contest. A win would be a great boost to the tourism industry. Prime Minister Netanyahu asked me to ask you to cast a vote in support of Israel (Click to view letter).

To cast your vote before November 11th, please go to www.votedeadsea.com or www.pmo.gov.il/pmoeng. Thank you.

Now back to the urgent crisis at Mt. Carmel.

It’s time to prepare for Christmas. If you want to plant a tree in the honor of several friends as a Christmas gift, please indicate on the online form the names of the people you want honored. So many people have almost everything; Give that loved one something new, a tree in Israel, planted in their honor.

Remember the words from King David, “The righteous shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaves shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:3). The tree you plant is symbolic of God’s promise to you.

There are many levels of blessing. First, you bless Israel; Secondly, you bless the advancement of the Gospel; Thirdly your act of kindness becomes a reminder that we are “trees of righteousness” because of Jesus Christ. Please take action today:

1. Click here to indicate the trees you want to plant.

2. Write the names you want written on your official certificate, or certificates.

3. Click here for your prayer request. Pray also for Grace Television. Your participation is needed to do what Jesus has called us to do in reaching the world through television.

Thank you for your response today. Your witness of love will be noticed in Israel and a blessing to the people. The Mount Carmel region will flourish again!

Blessings in Yeshua,
